CORPORATE SPIRIT AWARD
WELLS FARGO
The Corporate Spirit Award goes to our partner who has shown outstanding support for the Community Impact Fund of the United Way. This is through campaign and sponsorship. Over 4 years Wells Fargo's overall employee campaign total has increased 600%. As well, Wells Fargo sponsors our Golf Challenges and this last year gave a grant to bring United Way services to San Benito County.

CITY OF SANTA CRUZ
The President's Award celebrates the ongoing partnership with and outstanding contribution to the United Way. The City participates in workplace campaigns. They also strongly support the United Way's Community Initiatives with funds and with passionate individuals.

With the help and support of the Volunteer Center, the United Way is creating the structure and expertise to initiate volunteer programs for our donors.

Individual Volunteer of the Year
TAD STERLING
Tad volunteered his time to help the United Way bring 2-1-1 to Santa Cruz County. We all are indebted to his enthusiasm & dedication in bringing this vital service to all of us. 2-1-1's value as an Emergency and Disaster Communication System was vividly demonstrated during the Tsunami Warning.

Bay Fed values volunteering and they empower their employees to support our community through volunteering. We are so grateful not only to their help with our projects but for all they do for Santa Cruz County.

Individual Advocate of the Year
DON LANE
The commitment to making real and practical changes as well as unending advocacy for the lives of those who face or nearly face homelessness in our County shows up in so many ways with Don.
We especially owe him a debt of thanks for contributing to the success of Project Homeless Connect which was held for a second year.

Organization Advocate of the Year
FAMILY FINANCIAL STABILITY PARTNERSHIP
A collaborative of 6 local nonprofits who work together to promote and advocate for economic justice. They work across local, state and federal levels in an effort to create an environment where low income families can move out of poverty and become financially stable.

Media Partner of the Year: Television
KSBW
While KSBW's contribution of commercials and PSAs is worth thousands of dollars, there is just no dollar figure that can be put on the increased awareness and good will that come to the United Way through their generosity.

Media Partners of the Year: Print
GOOD TIMES & SANTA CRUZ SENTINEL
The Good Times donated ad space to the United Way and played a critical role in getting community input for the goals of the Community Assessment Project through a published survey.
The Sentinel has supported 2-1-1 not only with coverage but donated ads. Getting the word out is extremely important so all in the County can benefit from 2-1-1.

Employee Campaign Manager of the Year
ELISABETH WARDEN OF
SUTTER MATERNITY AND SURGERY CENTER
Every year Elisabeth and her team put together an energetic campaign that encourages employees to pledge. This year she took the initiative to ensure that everyone at the Center had the information they needed to make an informed choice about giving. Thanks to her hard work the campaign went up both in participation and donations.
