Community Organizing

An important way that the United Way of Santa Cruz County advances the common good is through Community Organizing.

United Way of Santa Cruz County's Community Organizing team convenes and develops membership and leadership from a broad spectum of the community to collaborate and jointly act to address critical problems facing and affecting the welfare of neighborhoods and communities throughout Santa Cruz County.

This participatory / volunteer process of working for needed change, teaches people how to take greater responsibility for the future of their neighborhoods, gain in mutual respect and grow as individuals. Based on careful data gathering, research and strategic planning, these programs advocate and put into action policy and other significant changes to bring about lasting solutions to improve lives.

We encourage you to learn more about this important piece of your United Way. It is a very powerful and locally unique way we impact our community.
