The Foster Grandparent/Senior Companion Programs seeks low-income seniors to volunteer to serve 20 hours per week with children with special needs. This service is provided in setting such as schools and day care centers.Volunteers receive a meal at their site, transportation reimbursement and a tax-free stipend. Income does not affect eligibility for or amounts received from Social Security and other federal and state entitlement programs.
