Nominations Needed for Community Awards!
Santa Cruz County community members are committed to protecting our youth from alcohol use and abuse. Some of our greatest allies are alcohol merchants who actively discourage and limit teen access to alcohol. Business such as outlet stores, restaurants, clubs or bars, retail outlets, and distributors and more, work every day to keep our youth safe. Therefore, we would like to acknowledg their efforts through our 8th annual Responsible Alcohol Merchant Awards. Nominees can include retail outlets, restaurants, and pubs, bars, and clubs, wholesalers and distributors. Nominees must support exemplary management policies and employee training programs, and should be actively involved in promoting a positive, healthy community for our youth. For a complete nominee checklist, please contact Friday Night Live at 454-5003.
Send or fax nomination to: Aimee Mangan, Friday Night Live, County Alcohol and Drug Programs, 1400 Emeline, Building K Santa Cruz, CA or Attn: Aimee Mangan (831) 454-4747
-----------------------------------------------------------
A recent youth survey reported that more than 60 percent of Santa Cruz County teens admitted that it was easy to obtain alcohol. For this reason, CURB is partnering with local alcohol retailers who actively discourage and limit youth access to alcoholic beverages. The Responsible Alcohol Merchant Awards (RAMA) is designed to honor businesses that have demonstrated a commitment to combating the growing problem of underage drinking in the community. These merchants are rewarded for proactively implementing employee-training programs and exemplary management policies to combat the sale of alcohol to people under-21.
Project CURB encourages consumers to support the 2007 RAMA winners by shopping at their stores.
