- Participate in funding decisions
- See results of their investments through scheduled visits
- Serve as advocates for children's rights
- Set funding direction every three years
- Serve on volunteer committees
Current volunteer opportunities include:
- Funds Allocations
- Advocacy & Communications
- POWER Project
- Events
- Membership
There are three events during the year when the members have a chance to get together:
- May and December events are usually either a breakfast or lunch held at a venue in Santa Cruz County. Representatives from the funded programs are there to speak about the current status of their programs. Members are encouraged to invite friends and colleagues to these events
- The October Business meeting is for members only and is for election of officers, discussion about fund direction, etc.
If you are interested in membership or want to learn more about Women in Philanthropy, contact Anne Cawley at the United Way. Another good way to learn about all we are doing is to sign up for our periodic e-Newsletter.
