The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program is focused on assisting families who earn less than $64,000 a year prepare their taxes for free! It is a program provided by the IRS and run by your local Project SCOUT - Seniors Council, Santa Cruz Community Ventures and United Way. This program is unique because our volunteers learn valuable skills while helping Santa Cruz residents receive reliable tax counseling in a community setting.

Free tax sites open the first week of February and run until April 18, 2017.
What To Bring:
- Photo ID
- Social Security Cards or ITIN for each person on your tax return
- W-2, 1099, 1098 forms for all jobs held in 2016
- Child Care Costs for 2016 & Provider Information
- A voided check for direct deposit (optional)
- Copy of 2015 tax form (not required, but helpful)
