Gregor Veble Mikić is Head of Flight Research & Flight Physics at Joby Aviation and a member of the executive leadership team. He leads a team of over 100 engineers developing the next generation of sustainable aircraft. He earned his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, and was an Associate Professor of Physics at the University of Nova Gorica before moving into the aviation industry.

At Pipistrel Aircraft, Gregor served as Head of Research, leading the design of the Panthera general aviation aircraft and shaping the Taurus G4, the electric plane that won the 2011 NASA Green Flight Challenge. His work there helped push the boundaries of efficiency and performance in small aircraft design.

Since joining Joby Aviation in 2015, Gregor has been at the forefront of developing the company’s electric aircraft—from writing Joby’s first aerodynamic simulator to shaping the aerodynamics and various aircraft configurations. He received the AIAA Piper General Aviation Award in 2016 and holds numerous patents for innovations in aircraft design.
