Your 2021 Holiday Giving Guide

Your 2021 Holiday Giving Guide

United Way of Santa Cruz County understands that when we unite together, that’s when we can create change in our community. And with the holiday season upon us, the spirit of giving and helping others is in the air. www.unitedwaysc.org/donate. This year, you can make a difference by joining us in helping people live their best possible lives.

Here are four ways to give back this holiday season.

1. Make volunteering a holiday tradition.

Make a Difference by helping a Santa Cruz County neighbor in need of free tax support. Become a volunteer income tax assistant (V.I.T.A)

Find the perfect volunteer opportunity for you this holiday season by visiting the Volunteer Center of Santa Cruz County

2. Brighten the new year for those in need.

More youth are thriving with additional support such as tutoring, family counseling, mindfulness activities, and other whole-person services through the United 4 Youth neighborhood initiative in Watsonville and Santa Cruz/Live Oak. Help us expand our reach to youth in our neighborhood by making a holiday gift to United 4 Youth.

3. Start a fundraiser on Facebook or Instagram.

The fundraising feature for Facebook and Instagram makes it easy for you to share causes that are most meaningful to you with your friends and family while joining together to make an even bigger impact.

As our United Way campaign starts to wrap up, now is the time to help make a change. Every gift makes a difference, and we can accomplish so much more when we come together.

4. Provide food support to Santa Cruz County.

Food is a part of many holiday traditions, but many of our neighbors struggle to keep food on the table at all. In the past year, there were over 886 requests for help with food through United Way 211, our 24/7 resource navigation center. In Santa Cruz alone, food insecurity impacts nearly 20% of families. Donate food to neighbors in need through Second Harvest Food Bank Santa Cruz County or support our 211 Door Dash Food Pantry Delivery program with a tax-deductible year-end gift.
