Your Future Is Our Business to Transition Services to United Way of Santa Cruz County After 34 Years of Community Impact

After 34 years of dedicated service to the community, Your Future Is Our Business announced today that it will conclude operations and transition all contracts and programs to United Way of Santa Cruz County, effective June 30, 2026.

This planned transition ensures the continuity of vital work-based learning and career exploration services while positioning these programs for long-term sustainability and growth within United Way’s established infrastructure and countywide network of partners.

Morgan Lukina

Morgan joined her family’s company in 2010 and is the Managing Broker and CEO of David Lyng Real Estate. Outside of David Lyng Real Estate, she served on the Board of Directors for the Santa Cruz County Association of Realtors (SCCAR) from 2012 to 2021 and served as the President of the Association in 2020. Morgan was selected as the 2017 REALTOR of the Year by SCCAR for her contributions to the Association.

Robert Shaw

Robert M. Shaw serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Central Coast Community Energy (3CE), the electric generation provider for 35 jurisdictions and over 1 million residents and businesses across Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Benito, San Luis Obispo, and Santa Barbara Counties.   Robert brings an extensive legal expertise serving as counsel and thought partner for a variety of state and local government agencies in the areas of land use and complex government contracting.

Jazmine Venegas

Jazmine Venegas joined Pacific Gas and Electric Company in 2024 as the Central Coast Government Relations Representative leading local government affairs efforts across Santa Cruz, San Benito, and Monterey Counties. She is a native of El Paso, Texas where she previously worked at El Paso Electric Company as a government affairs specialist, fostering strong relationships with public officials and key stakeholders.

Sandra Chapin

Sandra is a mission-driven leader, dedicating her career to building and running major social service programs, especially those tackling homelessness and food and economic insecurity. With nearly two decades of experience, Sandra excels at managing diverse teams, fostering partnerships, and ensuring large-scale programs remain compliant and on budget. Sandra is deeply committed to data-driven and person-centered service, leveraging her strong foundation in policy development and advocacy to drive systems change. As a National Truman Scholar with a Master of Public Policy from U.C.

Alicia Clark

Alicia Clark recently joined us as our new Office Manager & Board Clerk. She comes to us after working in the International Development sector for a few years due to a desire to shift focus to a more localized, community-based effort to help effect change in a more durable, sustainable manner.

Alanah Martinez

Alanah Martinez is a Community Impact Intern through the UCSC Humanities EXCEL program, supporting United Way of Santa Cruz County’s youth-led programming and mental health equity initiatives. A first-generation college student from Hollister, they hold A.A. degrees in Liberal Arts & Sciences, Psychology, and Women’s Studies from Cabrillo College and are now a Senior-standing transfer student at UC Santa Cruz majoring in Feminist Studies and Critical Race & Ethnic Studies.
